A little about me...

Rebecca Jagger-Rowden

PGCE (Secondary Drama teaching) & BA (HONS) in Theatre and Performance

From a young age, Rebecca always had an affinity for the performing arts, starting ballet and tap classes at age 4, and finding the stage to be where she felt most comfortable.  As a child growing up in Plymouth she performed in ‘Hobson’s Choice’ with the Birmingham Royal Ballet and Bill Kenwright’s’ Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat’ at Theatre Royal Plymouth. It was through her performing arts classes, performances and opportunities from a young age that Rebecca developed her confident, hard working nature.

Rebecca trained in Musical Theatre at Northbrook College in West Sussex and then went on to develop her skills at London School of Musical Theatre. She has performed as a singer, dancer and actor (both professionally and as an amateur) in stage and TV & film productions throughout the years.

Rebecca chose to do her PGCE in secondary drama teaching and has taught at various schools in Devon and Torbay for almost 8 years now. She adores sharing her passion for the arts with young people and seeing their confidence improve in leaps and bounds through performance.

Rebecca is a mother to two young children, Lily and Zach, who certainly keep her life busy and interesting. She is excited and honoured to be taking over this wonderful franchise in Plymouth which encompasses her ethos that the performing arts should be fully inclusive for all children.
